Malam Jabba
At 2,636 m (8,700 feet) above sea level, Malam Jabba Ski Resort stands on top of a mountain of the Hindukush range, north east of Saidu Sharif which gets 6 to 10 feet of snow fall on average annually. It is 314 km from Islamabad and 51 km from Saidu Sharif. After driving for 10 kms on Saidu Sharif-Kalam road, turn right from Manglor for Malam Jabba.
Amidst its natural beauty and imprints of Gandhara civilization, lie the modern tourist facilities of a 52 rooms motel, 2 skiing platforms, chairlifts, roller/ice skating rinks, restaurant, telephone and snow clearing equipment etc. The food, lodging and skiing facilities are all managed by foreign trained staff and offered at competitive prices. The summer temperatures of 10oC to 25oC give way to lush green meadows and thick green forests of Pine & Deodar trees. In the winter when the temperature falls to –5oC to –10oC, the angel white snow makes it an ideal place for skiing.

The scenery is unbelievable with icy mountain peaks, deep valleys, and forests as far as the eyes can see. Malam Jabba offers two skiing platforms, and chairlifts that facilitate 56 passengers, taking them to a height of 10,500 feet. There is also a chairlift for beginners and a warming house, snow clearing equipment and all modern facilities.
Roller and ice skating, a Helipad and indoor game facilities, restaurants with international cuisine, and luxury motel make for a perfect fun filled winter vacation in one of the most spectacular skiing resorts in the world. Two major trekking paths are found here, one winds through scenic Ghorband valley 18 km from the resort, a trek that can be taken by jeep to the top of Shangla in 1.5 hours, and onward to the Karakoram highway. The other leads to Soboney valley, 17 km from the resort through an enchanting pine forest, as well as charming peach and apple orchards.
